about Us

CCS was established in January 2009, and has been referred to as the “fastest growing adjusting firm in the country” (InsuranceWest magazine July 2010).

CCS is a full service, multi-line adjusting firm with four locations in Western Canada, Edmonton (Head Office), Calgary, Vancouver and Winnipeg.

With a combined experience level of well over 100 years, our staff have the technical skills and expertise to handle virtually any type of loss that our clients would be exposed to. We have extensive experience handling all levels of Property, Liability, Automobile and Specialty line claims.

Our state-of-the-art Claims Management system is web based, and is capable of entirely paperless claims handling. It is an integrated Claims Management/Document Management/Financial system. This system allows our clients real-time access to their files and an ability to communicate directly with our adjusters and management within the claims system. Additionally, your staff can upload documents directly into the claims files, further eliminating the need for paper.

The CCS system is a powerful tool, which is very flexible, allowing us to tailor our services and reporting to meet the needs of our varied customers

 

Meet Our People - Edmonton Office

David S. Riddell FCIP, CRM

President

After attending the General Insurance and Business Administration Program at Mount Royal College, David began his insurance career in January 1989 with a major National Adjusting firm.

While working as an adjuster, David specialized in Large Personal and Commercial Property, Transportation, Oil & Gas, and Dental Malpractice claims.

In 1998, David transitioned to management, ultimately holding the position of Regional Vice President, Western Canada. In this role, David oversaw all Operations and Business Development activities for British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.

During his career, David has developed a solid reputation built on honesty, integrity, and a common sense approach to problem solving. He also takes pride in his ability to develop strong business relationships with clients and staff.

David holds a Class 3 Adjusters License, and has obtained his FCIP and CRM Professional Designations. He is currently a member of the Canadian Independent Adjusters Association, Alberta Independent Adjusters Association, the Fire Investigation Association of Alberta, and the Insurance Institute of Canada

Rose Adams CIP

Senior Adjuster

Rose started her insurance career as a dictatypist for 6 ½ years with an independent adjusting firm and then moved to adjusting by starting as a telephone adjuster with a major insurer back in 1995. She quickly moved to multi-line adjusting and was a senior claims representative and staff adjuster with major insurers and became a Claims Specialist for 5 years dealing with major losses and litigation in both personal lines and commercial lines, before she became an independent adjuster in October 2006. Her employment with insurers for many years has offered her the skills to handle multi-line claims in the independent adjusting field.

Rose obtained her CIP designation in 1999 and has held a Business Management Certificate through the Calgary Board of Education since 1990. She has completed 4 of the required courses towards her FCIP. Rose is also a member of the Canadian Independent Adjuster’s Association.

Rose has experience in all major classes of claims, including automobile, property, casualty, commercial property, farm, transportation and cargo, oil and gas, errors and omissions, employee dishonesty, and liability, as well as environmental liability

Leanne Campbell

Adjuster

Leanne started in the Insurance Industry in 1995 with a large Independent Adjusting firm. She quickly moved up from a dicta-typist to an adjuster where she handled auto, marine and accident benefits losses. She has continued her career as an Independent Adjuster and now specializes in liability, bodily injury, accident benefits, marine, equipment and liability and auto claims. She continues to work towards her CIP designation

Michael Gelderman CIP

Adjuster

Michael began his Adjusting career in 2002 with an Insurance Company and became an Independent Adjuster in 2011 and joined Canadian Claims Services in 2018. Michael is proud to have obtained his Chartered Insurance Professional Designation in 2009. Michael is a very versatile Adjuster handling all types of property claims, liability claims, commercial losses and has experience in auto, and bodily injury claims

Lee-Ann Case FCIP, CRM

Senior Adjuster

Lee-Ann began her insurance career in 1996 working for a global adjusting firm in both Winnipeg and Calgary and joined CCS in 2010. Lee-Ann’s area of expertise is property claims in which she has handled losses of all sizes and complexity. She is also experienced in the areas of Professional Liability, Builder’s Risk, Wrap-up Liability, Casualty, Product Liability and Transportation. She has developed strong technical skills and demonstrates a commitment to quality and service.

Lee-Ann has completed her FCIP and CRM designations and is a licenced adjuster in Alberta, British Columbia and Saskatchewan. She is actively involved with the Provincial Executive of the Alberta Association of Insurance Adjusters (AAIA) and also an active member of the Canadian Independent Adjusters Association (CIAA). 

Brian Carlson B.Comm

Adjuster

Brian began his career in insurance after graduating with a Business Commerce degree from the Haskayne School of Business (U of C) in 2002.

Brian gained experience at the company level with auto and property adjusting before joining CCS (formerly Triad Claims) in 2006. He handles property and casualty claims and has an interest in rural losses.

Brian continues to pursue further education though CIP courses. He enjoys spending time at the Hockey arena, whether coaching or playing, and golf in the summer season.

Diane Leaman CIP

Senior Adjuster

In 1988, Diane entered the insurance industry working as a multi-lined adjuster for a national independent firm in Ontario where she handled automobile and property claims for a variety of clients. 

She transferred to Alberta in 1990 where she remained with the company until 2008. She spent the next 10 years employed with an international independent adjusting firm where she primarily specialized in adjusting both personal and commercial property losses. She joined Canadian Claims Services in 2018 where she continues to handle property losses. She has also taken on a role as a third party administrator for Lloyd’s, London. 

She completed her CIP designation in 1993.

Larisa Grace CIAB

Adjuster

Larisa began her insurance career in 2005 as a broker, selling autoplan, private auto and identity theft policies. She moved into adjusting with a national independent adjusting firm in 2007. In her 6 years as an independent adjuster, she has developed solid multi-line skills handling Liability, Personal and Commercial Property and Bodily Injury Automobile claims.

Larisa is a Level 2 adjuster and is working towards her CIP designation.

D. L. Nieminen HBA, CIP, CCFI.c, CRM

Executive General
Adjuster

Dana began his insurance career in 1978, with a major national insurance company. He worked his way through the ranks to the position of Claims Manager, before making the move in 1990 to become a partner in an Independent Adjusting firm. In 1999, Dana and his partners sold their firm to a major National Adjusting Firm, where Dana stayed on in the role of Branch Manager and Executive General Adjuster.

Dana is recognized for his strong technical skills, common sense approach, and the high level of integrity in which he conducts himself. He continues to handle a volume of Large Property, Complex Liability, and Fidelity claims.

Ian Alexander B. Sc

Executive General Adjuster

Ian began his Claims career in 1985 after having graduated from U of Winnipeg.

He started with a national IA firm and quickly rose to the title of Senior Adjuster.  After 6 years Ian moved to a national Insurer working his way up to the position of Claims and Loss Prevention Manager where Ian developed a skill for Commercial Property and Casualty specializing in Large losses and complicated liability investigations and coverage interpretations.

In 2003 Ian’s love for field adjusting drew him back to the Independent Adjusting side of the business where he quickly established himself as a go to guy for many national insurers who relied on his experience and expertise as an investigator, coverage instincts and negotiation skills.

Ian takes his greatest pleasure mentoring and coaching his fellow employees and industry associates.

He is a Regional Director the Canadian Association of Fire Investigators and member of CICMA, MIAA, and the Insurance Institute.

Graeme Nieminen BA, CIP

Senior Adjuster

Graeme began his adjusting career in 2004, with a major national adjusting firm, and currently holds his CIP designation. Graeme handles a variety of Property and Liability claims. He is fluent in both English and French. Graeme is currently a level 4 adjuster.

Vincent Howie B.Sc., CIP, HCI (r)

Adjuster

After completing his studies at the University of Manitoba, Vince began his adjusting career in 2004 when he joined a large national adjusting firm.

 Vince has developed strong technical skills, and his ability to adapt to different situations has served him well in his career. He has shown that he can build and maintain strong business relationships. 

Vince is currently a level 4 adjuster.

Jason Kirk

Adjuster

Jason began in the insurance industry in 2000 where he worked with various property restoration firms.

Being overly familiar with the industry and property claim workflow, he moved to the adjusting field in 2015.

Jason brings with him years of restoration experience and a deep understanding of building construction and content restoration.

Jason is currently enrolled with the Insurance Institute and working towards his CIP designation.
